About Us
Hammer & Pincers is a family generated farriery business started in 1998. H&P then became part of Flashy Gaits in September, 2009. Since starting out at Flashy Gaits, our business has been blooming. Being one of only a few farriers in Flashy Gaits we hope our customers come to us because we're good not because we're "the only choice". We strive to bring you excellence and quality with kindness. Our farrier's are tough enough for the job but, not tough on the horses. Their kind but, clever hands fix feet in the kindest and best way possible.
Our Staff
Here we love our staff's quirky personalities, they make the job they do so much more interesting! As you can see, they're quite a bunch of posers:
Jake Smith.
Jake came to H&P after graduating with a "Farriery CPD", now 6 months later he's completely part of the crew and has a steady string of regular customers. Known for his cheeky grin and personality, Jake improves the mood of any customer, human or horse. Always one up for learning, Jake reguarly attends courses to improve his technique and ability.
Nicholaus Dante
Nicholaus emigrated to the UK, two years ago after a dissapointing closure of his Italian Grandfather's business. Mr Dante, owned a blacksmiths but, went bankrupt and was forced to closure. Not wanting to give up his dream, Nichoulaus took the leap and travelled to England. According to Nic, he'd been rejected from around 5 other farriery services around the area and H&P was his last chance before making a de-moralising return home. Nic's english wasn't great but, his ability with horses and especially, their feet shocked myself and other workers. We would be very foolish not to accept him. Currently, Nic has almost perfect english and still owns his Italian accent. He also lives on H&P's premisis, in a once ramshackled outhouse. Nicholaus seems to love life here and we love him too!
Emery Green
Nicknamed "Mr C", Emery is confident, clown-like and collected. Known as a huge poser the other's can often give him a lot of grief however, Emery just shrugs it off and reguarly makes jokes about his own personality. He's not afraid to contradict or speak his mind which is more often a good thing instead of a bad. Infamously known for his gymnastic brain cells that give Emery false impressions about his body's limits; cartwheels & handstands are few of his "tricks".
